दुर्गूकोंदल का नाम "दुर्गूकोंदल" कैसे पड़ा ?

दुर्गूकोंदल (Durgukondal) भारत के छत्तीसगढ़ राज्य के कांकेर ज़िले में स्थित एक छोटा कस्बा है। यहां एक तहसील मुख्यालय भी है। विदित हो कि दुर्गूकोंदल ब्रिटिश शासन के समय "कोन्देली" नाम से प्रचलित था। बाद में नाम परिवर्तन कर दुर्गूकोंदल रखा गया। किवदंती है कि लगभग सन् 1900 के पूर्व एक "जागिंग कोवा" नामक समुदाय निवास करते थे। बाद में उनका पूरा परिवार गांव छोड़कर चले गए। पुराने बुजुर्ग के कथनानुसार लगभग सन् 1905 के बाद दुरगू दुग्गा (दुर्गू) नामक व्यक्ति आए वे प्रमुख भुमियार के रूप में बस गए। बाद में धीरे-धीरे आस-पास व बाहर के लोग आकर निवास करने लगे देखते ही देखते यह गांव से एक छोटा सा कस्बा में परिवर्तन हो गया।
बाद में दुरगू दुग्गा व पुत्र बिपता दुग्गा पूरा परिवार सहित ओडाहूर में जाकर बस गए।
अंचल के जन समुदाय द्वारा दुरगू दुग्गा (दुर्गू) भुमियार के नाम पर इसे कोन्देली से दुरगूकोन्दल में परिवर्तन किया गया। धीरे-धीरे बोलचाल व सरकारी दस्तावेजों में यह दुर्गूकोंदल (Durgukondal) नाम में तब्दील हो गया। कई जगह सरकारी विभागों में दुर्गकोंदल (Durgkondal) नाम भी उल्लेख है।
How did Durgukondal get the name "Durgukondal"?

Durgukondal is a small town located in the Kanker district of Chhattisgarh state of India. There is also a tehsil headquarters here. It is known that Durgukondal was known as "Kondeli" during the British rule. Later the name was changed to Durgukondal. Legend has it that before 1900, a community called "Jagging Kova" used to live here. Later their whole family left the village. According to the old elders, after 1905, a person named Durgu Dugga came and settled as the landowner. Later, people from nearby and outside started coming and living here and within no time this village changed into a small town.
Later Durgu Dugga and son Bipta dugga along with the whole family went and settled in village Odahur.
It was changed from Kondeli to Durgukondal by the people of the region in the name of Durgu Dugga land owner (Bhumiyar). Gradually, it got transformed into Durgukondal in spoken language and government documents. The name Durgakondal is also mentioned in many government departments.
